Charlie Brown’s Summer Fun
View-Master 3-reel set featuring the adventures of Charlie Brown, Charles M. Schulz’s beloved Peanuts comic strip character. Reel 1 (B5481) is entitled “Croquet, Almost Anybody?,” Reel 2 (B5482) is entitled “The Hazards of Kite Flying,” and Reel 3 (B5483) is entitled “The Cold-blooded Killer.” All 3 reels are typeset, carry the GAF name, and are © 1972 United Feature Syndicate, Inc. However, even though these reels are copyrighted to 1972, they were produced by GAF between 1977 and 1981, the period during which GAF used its own brand of film that turned red over time. The images on all three of these reels have a decided red cast to them. But despite the esthetically-challenged appearance of GAF film reels, collectors seek them out because so few of them were produced. Set comes in the non-original packet it was in when we acquired it that has a full-color picture of the original packet front. Tell a friend.

The Real Ghostbusters
View-Master 3-reel set featuring cells from “The Real Ghostbusters,” an animated TV series produced by Columbia Pictures Television from 1986-1991 that was based on the 1984 Ghostbusters movie. Reel 1 (1062 – 004-950), Reel 2 (1063 – 004-951), and Reel 3 (1063 – 004-952) are all entitled “The Real Ghostbusters.” All 3 reels are typeset, carry no View-Master company name ID, and are © 1984 Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. and © 1986 Columbia Pictures Television, a division of CPT Holdings, Inc. These copyright dates would identify View-Master Ideal Group as the View-Master entity who produced these reels, View-Master International having purchased the Ideal Toy Company in 1984 and changed its name to VMIG. This also means that the red and/or reddish backgrounds of many of the cells are supposed to be that way and are NOT the result of the GAF film used by GAF between 1977-1981. Set comes in an SFTP sleeve. Tell a friend.
