Wood

Vintage wood train

From 2 to 92, what guy wouldn’t love this marvelous vintage train from days gone by? Made of solid unpainted wood, it has an engine (7-3/4" long x 4-1/8" tall), an oil tanker (6" long x 2-1/2" tall), a freight car (6" long x 3-3/4" tall), and a caboose (6" long x 4" tall). The cars can be unhooked from each other and all wooden wheels turn freely. Perfect as an indestructible toy, but nice enough to follow your little guy from the playroom to the boardroom. And wouldn’t this train be great under the Christmas tree? Whatever its previous owner(s) used it for, they certainly took care of it, because it’s in pristine condition and shows virtually no wear. What a neat addition to anyone’s train collection! (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

Biplane sculpture

This cool wire sculpture airplane harkens back to the single-engine biplanes of the WWI era. Made of thick steel wire coated in black enamel, this plane stands on two stationary metal wheels and measures 11" long x 10" across at the wings x 3-1/2" tall. 2-1/4" diameter center circle on the top wing holds a 1-3/4" tall glass cup with diameters of 2-1/2" at the flared mouth and 1-1/2" at the bottom. Perfect for holding a votive candle. Great display piece for any airplane enthusiast or, using one of the new battery operated tealights with “flickering flames” instead of a candle, makes a superb nightlight to assure any little boy a night of wonderful dreams flying off into the wild blue yonder! Perfect condition with no dents, dings, bends, or sharp edges. We have 4 of these biplane sculptures and price is for each. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

3-masted tall sailing ship

This is a beautiful and impressively sized model of the sailing ship “Confection” carved of wood with numerous cotton sails and hand-tied rigging. Great attention to detail. Two brass bands on either side of the hull, the top one of which contains 5 portholes. A black anchor hangs from a gold-colored chain on each side. Bottom of hull is painted black; all other wood is natural color and shows the graining. Piece stands 12-1/4" tall and is 12-1/2" long x 2-1/2" wide. Perfect condition. Outstanding display piece for an office, den, or family room, but equally at home on a living room bookcase shelf. Makes a great gift for the sailing afficionado. (Click on picture for more images.) Copper lobster boat

This is a beautiful copper lobster boat, complete with two large lobster traps hanging from the elaborate rigging that’s topped with two pennants waiving in the wind. The hinged roof of the captain’s cabin raises to reveal a music box mechanism that plays “Moon River.” Intricate copper pieces and wires expertly assembled to produce a thoroughly beautiful 8" x 2-1/2" x 11" tall metal sculpture that is attached by two copper brackets to a 6-3/4" x 3-5/8" x 1/2" tall wooden base with sculpted top edge reminiscent of ocean waves. Sure to delight anyone who has a love for the sea. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.
