We don’t clean or polish our silver because lots of folks prefer to do it themselves so their “new” piece will match what they already have.

Silver plate serving spoon - 1847 Rogers Bros.

This is an 8-1/4" silver plated serving spoon by 1847 Rogers Bros. Very ornate oak leaves, acorns, and scrolls on the handle. This is NOT the Charter Oak pattern, but coordinates extremely well with it. Handle back is stamped “1847 Rogers Bros.” and carries their mark, after which is an XS over the word “Triple”. We have 4 of these huge serving spoons and price is for each. Now tarnished, but in good condition with signs of usage appropriate to their age. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

Price: $10.00 each + s/h and insurance

** All four sold **

Berkshire serving spoons - 1847 Rogers Bros.

This is a pair of 6" silver plated serving spoons in the exceptionally ornate Berkshire pattern introduced by 1847 Rogers Bros. ca. 1897. The large 2" x 1-5/8" bowls feature lipped scalloped edges and patterning that extends 3/4" down into the bowls from the handles. Handle backs are stamped “1847 Rogers Bros. A1" and carry a circle mark with patterning inside. Both spoons are in good condition with signs of usage appropriate to their age, and the bowl of one has scratching, as shown in the pictures. Fiddle/Tipped teaspoons - 1847 Rogers Bros.

This is a pair of 5-7/8" silver plated teaspoons by 1847 Rogers Bros. in a pattern I’ve seen listed as both Fiddle and Tipped. Backs of both spoons are stamped “1847 Rogers Bros.” Both spoons are in good condition with signs of usage and silver wear appropriate to their age. For whatever reason, the handle of one is curved upward at its top edge, but shows no sign of damage, like a dent or crease, that might have caused this. See our matching dinner forks listed immediately below. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

Wm. Rogers & Son AA 5-piece serving set

This is a lovely old 5-piece silver plated serving set by Wm. Rogers & Son AA. Set consists of one 8-1/4" serving fork, one 7-1/8" gravy ladle, one 6" sugar shell, one 7-1/4" butter knife, and one 7-1/2" pickle fork. I don’t know the pattern name, but I would guess this is one of the earlier patterns and features two flower blossoms and leaves at the handle tips. The serving fork, gravy ladle, and sugar shell have an additional swag of blossoms and leaves in their “bowl” portion. Backs of all handles are stamped “Wm. Rogers & Son AA”, and the butter knife also says “Pat. Dept. 3-1912". Now tarnished, but in good condition with signs of usage appropriate to their age. (Click on picture for more images.) The back of the handle is stamped “Wm. Rogers & Son AA”. Now tarnished, but in good condition with signs of usage appropriate to their age. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

*Thanks to an email from a very kind site visitor, we now know that this pattern is Arbutus 1908 (a highly collectible pattern) per Silverplated Flatware, Revised 4th Edition by Tere Hagan, page 137. Thank you, Vicki, we greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness. Talk about a random act of kindness!

Wm. Rogers Mfg. Co. shrimp forks

This is a set of five delicate little 5-1/2" shrimp forks by Wm. Rogers Mfg. Co. I don’t know the pattern name* that features flowers, leaves, and scrolls. The backs of the handles are stamped “Wm. Rogers Mfg. Co., Extra Plate, Original Rogers”. We acquired these in a protective plastic bag where they evidently lived for decades, so there’s very little tarnish and they look virtually unused. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

*Vicki to the rescue again! This pattern is Magnolia aka Inspiration 1951 (a collectible pattern) per Silverplated Flatware, Revised 4th Edition by Tere Hagan, page 161. Go Vicki! “You didn’t have to do what you did, but you did, and we thank you!”

Jelly server - Community

This is a 6-1/8" silver plated jelly server. I have been unable to identify the pattern, but it’s similar to Evening Star, although I’d guess this piece to be considerably older than 1950, the year Evening Star was introduced. The back of the handle is stamped “Community”. Good condition with signs of usage appropriate to its age. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

Pickle forks - Oneida Ltd.

This is a pair of 6" silver plated pickle forks (or long handled cocktail forks) by Oneida Ltd. I have been unable to identify the pattern, but it has a definite art deco look to it. Backs of both handles are stamped “Oneida Ltd.” Both forks are in amazingly good condition with very few signs of usage. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

Vintage teaspoon and jelly spoon

These are two vintage unmarked silver plated spoons. The teaspoon is 5-5/8" long with a handle that is decorated both front and back. The little jelly spoon (that looks even older) is only 3-3/4" long and may not be a jelly spoon at all, but I’m calling it that based on its round bowl. It is a totally plain design with no decoration whatsoever. Both are in reasonable condition with signs of usage and silver wear appropriate for their respective ages.
