Avon Unforgettable dresser set

This is a 3-piece Avon Unforgettable dresser set consisting of two clear glass cologne bottles and a coral pink plastic Beauty Dust container. The partially full bottle has an art deco look; it stands 4-1/4" tall and measures 1-1/2" x 1-1/2". Its bottom is marked with the number 18 and its black plastic screw-on lid features the Unforgettable design on top. The empty bottle has a bell shape; it stands 4-1/4" tall and is 2-1/8" in diameter. Its bottom is marked with the number 13. It features a silver tone metal top, a removable gold tone collar and elaborate pull-off lid with the Unforgettable design. The large Beauty Dust container stands 3-1/4" tall and is 5-1/4" in diameter. The bottom says “Avon Unforgettable Beauty Dust, Avon Products, Inc., New York, N.Y., Net wt. 6 oz., Made in
U.S.A.” Its gold tone collar and elaborate knob are stationary and similar in design to those of the bottle. A small amount of the Beauty Dust remains inside, as well as a large white powder puff with a pink ribbon saying “AVON” in gold lettering. All three pieces are free of damage.

By the way, did you know that Avon was founded in 1886 by 28-year-old David H. McConnell as the California Perfume Company in New York, NY? He must have been the Bill Gates of the 19th Century! Women sold Avon products from the very beginning – 34 years before winning the right to vote in the U.S. – spearheaded by Mrs. P.F.E. Albee of Winchester, NH, the wife of a
U.S. senator, who became America’s first “Avon lady” and pioneered the company’s now-famous direct-selling method. Within 12 years, she recruited and trained nearly 5,000 representatives. McConnell led the company until his death in 1937, during which time the West Coast office in San Francisco was destroyed in the great earthquake of 1906. His son, David H. McConnell, Jr., assumed company leadership in 1937, and until his own death in 1944, lead Avon to become one of the largest cosmetics companies in the United States by increasing the company’s product offerings by 400%. The company name was changed to Avon Products, Inc. in 1939 and was taken public in 1964. By 1979, sales had reached $3 billion, with one million direct sales agents. Avon Rosepoint perfume bell

This Rosepoint perfume bell was introduced by Avon in 1977 to hold Charisma Cologne. 4" tall glass bell has a textured diamonds design that graduate in size from large at the 3-1/2" diameter base to small at the top. The glass color, too, graduates from deep cranberry pink at the base to clear at the top. Elaborate 4-7/8" tall faceted clear plastic screw-on finial. Label on bottom has been mostly torn away. Avon Gingerbread Man perfume bottle

This cute little gingerbread man perfume bottle is made of deep brown glass with a pink screw-on lid and pink painted facial features and clothing accents. He’s 2-1/2" across, just shy of 1" deep, and stands 4" tall to the top of his lid. Original label on the back says “Hello Sunshine Cologne, Handle under adult supervision, Contents for external use only, 1 fl oz, Avon Prod. Inc., N.Y., N.Y. 10019” and carries a red number 42610. Avon Purse Petite perfume bottle

This clever perfume bottle is in the shape of a lady’s evening bag, complete with chain handle attached to a goldtone shoulder overlay and goldtone screw-on closure (a/k/a lid). Glass bottle is 2-5/8" across at its widest point x 3/4" deep and stands 3-1/8" tall to the top of its cap. Bottle has an elaborate “carved” design front and back. Label on bottom says “Avon Purse Petite, Charisma Cologne, 1.5 fl oz, Avon Products, Inc., New York, N.Y. 10020.” Bottle is empty but retains a lovely fragrance. Nina Ricci Lalique swirl glass bottle

Halston Z-14 Men’s Cologne bottle

This Halston Z-14 men’s cologne bottle measures 2-3/4" across at it widest point x 1-1/4" deep and stands 3-1/2" tall to the top of its screw-on cap. Both the glass bottle and the cap are a deep coffee brown. Bottle features a large offset indented “thumbprint” front and back. Original label on the bottom says “Halston Z-14 Cologne For Men, 2 fl oz, Halston Fragrances, Inc., Distr. N.Y., N.Y. 10036.” Z-14 was introduced by American fashion designer Halston in 1976 and immediately became a huge success. Pink heart atomizer

This pink glass heart perfume bottle features – what else? – a clear glass heart on the front and a frosted glass heart on the back, both surrounded by a star pattern and horizontal miters marching down each side. Bottle measures 3" across at its widest point, tapering to a 1-3/8" x 7/8" ovular base with an 8-point star, and stands 4-3/4" tall to the top of its goldtone cap that attaches to a fabric-covered tube and atomizer bulb. Set of 4 vintage perfume bottles

This is a grouping of four vintage perfume bottles, three of ribbed clear glass, and the fourth featuring an all-over texture pattern. The largest bottle stands 3-3/4" tall, measures 3-1/8" across at its widest point, and has a 2" x 1-1/14" ovular base. The textured bottle is 3/4" in diameter and stands 3" tall. Its bottom carries a Coty label that identifies its original contents as Muguet des bois roll-on parfum concentrate. The two matching vertical ribbed bottles are 7/8" in diameter and stand 2-1/4" tall. No lids/stoppers, but all four bottles are in otherwise perfect condition with no nicks, chips, or cracks. Some hardened residue remains inside, particularly in one of the vertically ribbed bottles, that didn’t come out with washing and I don’t have any brushes small enough to fit inside these small bottles. This is an unmatched pair of vintage frosted glass perfume vials. The swirl glass vial has a diameter of 3/4" and stands 2-1/2" tall. The other vial, featuring 13 rows of offset triangles, also has a diameter of 3/4" and stands 3-3/4" tall.
