1988 Breeders’ Cup glass

This is a 1988 Breeders’ Cup glass that is the exact same size as Kentucky Derby mint julep glasses, being 5-1/4" tall x 2-3/4" in diameter. It is especially collectible because 1988 was the first year the Breeders’ Cup produced a “mint julep” glass. The front contains the beautiful Breeders’ Cup logo, the Churchill Downs spires, and says “Breeders’ Cup, Churchill Downs, November 5, 1988,” as well as “© 1988 BCL.” Colors are blue, purple, brown, yellow, white, and black on a frosted background. The back says “Racing’s $10,000,000 championship” and lists the purse for each of the 7 Breeders’ Cup races, being Sprint, Juvenile Fillies, Distaff, Mile, Juvenile, Turf, and Classic, as well as all of the champions from 1984-1987 for each of those races. 1991 Breeders’ Cup glass

This is a 1991 Breeders’ Cup glass that is the exact same size as Kentucky Derby mint julep glasses, being 5-1/4" tall x 2-3/4" in diameter. The front has the Breeder’s Cup logo and the Churchill Downs twin spires and says “Breeders’ Cup 1991 Churchill Downs.” Colors are green, beige, and black on a white background. Back says “Official Louisville Mfg. Co., Louisville, KY © 1991 BCL” and lists the purses for each of seven races – Sprint, Juvenile Fillies, Distaff, Mile, Juvenile, Turf, and Classic – as well as the 1984-1990 Breeders’ Cup Champions for each race. 1991 Breeders’ Cup error glass

This is a 1991 Breeders’ Cup error glass that is the exact same size as Kentucky Derby mint julep glasses, being 5-1/4" tall x 2-3/4" in diameter. This glass looks exactly like the regular 1991 Breeders’ Cup glass in terms of its design and colors, but there is a mistake in the list of winners for the Turf Race. The 1990 Turf Race was won by In The Wings, but this error glass lists the winner as French Glory. As you know, error glasses are especially collectible and increase in value more quickly than their non-error counterparts. 1993 Breeders’ Cup glass

This is a 1993 Breeders’ Cup glass that is the exact same size as Kentucky Derby mint julep glasses, being 5-1/4" tall x 2-3/4" in diameter. The front has the Breeder’s Cup logo encircled by a ribbon saying “Tenth Anniversary Running” with a rose at the bottom, underneath which is “November 6, 1993,” “Santa Anita Park,” and “Oak Tree Racing Association.” Colors are deep blue, red, gold, and green on a white background. Back lists the purses for each of seven races – Sprint, Juvenile Fillies, Distaff, Mile, Juvenile, Turf, and Classic – as well as the 1984-1992 Breeders’ Cup Champions for each race.
