This is Mel the Kaola bear. He was born January 15, 1996, and his poem reads:

How do you name a Koala bear?
It's rather tough, I do declare!
It confuses me, I get into a funk
I'll name him Mel after my favorite hunk!

This is Princess the purple bear. She has no birthdate, but she was introduced on October 29, 1997, in honor of Princess Di. Her poem reads:

Like an angel, she came from heaven above
She shared her compassion, her pain, her love
She only stayed with us long enough to teach
The world to share, to give, to reach.

This very special Princess is a dark purple bear with a white rose embroidered over her heart, and she wears a purple ribbon around her neck. Her tags identify her as a Special Beanie Baby by Ty, Inc. and her hang tag says “All profits of Ty from this collectible will be donated to the Diana, Princess of Wales, Memorial Fund.” This is the P.E.
