Set of 8 Blackman’s Fruitee zombie glasses
This is a set of 8 frosted zombie glasses advertising Blackman’s Fruitee, apparently “America’s Finest” soft drink with “Real Fruit Flavor.” So I ask you, is this for real? Is there – or was there ever – a soft drink called Blackman’s Fruitee? If you know, please email me because I can’t discover anything about Blackman’s Fruitee and it’s driving me nuts! The glasses are certainly attractive, if not a bit kitchy. They’re completely frosted except for their clear bottoms, and all lettering is in red. They stand 6-3/4" tall with a rim diameter just shy of 2-1/2" and a base diameter of 2-1/8". Bottoms carry the F in a shield mark of Federal Glass. Perfect size for iced tea, lemonade, or one of those elusive Blackman’s Fruitees! Perfect condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, or color loss. Require hand washing to preserve the finish and paint. If you already have a few of these glasses and need to complete your set, see our single glasses listed immediately below. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

Co-Mo Electric Co-op coffee mug
This large white pottery souvenir coffee mug with green and white logo and green printing commemorates the 50th anniversary (1939-1989) of the Co-Mo Electric Cooperative in the counties of Cooper, Moniteau, Morgan, and Camden, presumably in Tennessee based on the quote on the back which reads: “Brothers and sisters, I want to tell you this. The greatest thing on earth is to have the love of God in your heart, and the next greatest thing is to have electricity in your house.” This is attributed to “Farmer giving witness in a rural Tennessee church in the early 1940s.” Amen! The mug stands 4" tall, is 3-1/4" in diameter, and has a large applied handle. Unmarked on the bottom. We have two of these mugs and price is for each. Both are in perfect condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, or crazing. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

Chas. P. Shipley antique leather clothes brush
This antique leather clothes brush is also a piece of Kansas City history. The gold embossing on the leather top reads “Compliments of Chas. P. Shipley Co., Kansas City, Missouri”. Some online research led to the discovery that the Charles P. Shipley Saddlery & Mercantile Co. operated in Kansas City at the turn of the 20th Century as “purveyors of saddles, harnesses, boots, and stockmen’s supplies”. The company was known nationwide for their fine hand-crafted saddles, and I found one their now antique side saddles being sold today for over $4,500! I also came across one of their 1910 catalogs, but the last date reference I found is that they advertized in the 1920 Saline County, KS directory. This clothes brush with stitched leather top measures 2" x 6-1/2" exclusive of its leather loop at one end that holds a little brass stirrup. How appropriate for a saddle company! The black bristles are tapered, so the brush is 1-1/2" tall at its stirrup end and 1-3/4" tall at the other end. Some of the outer bristles are bent, but all are intact. Wear on the gold embossing. A waaaay cool piece of Americana! (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.
