Set of 3 Maker’s Mark limited edition collector plates

It doesn’t get any better than this! Here’s a complete set of three beautiful limited edition Maker’s Mark collector plates made by Louisville Stoneware. What a great partnership between two of Louisville’s most prestigious companies! These large (11-1/8" diameter) heavy (42.4 oz each!!) handpainted stoneware plates depict three of the historic buildings located at the Maker’s Mark “village” in Loretto, KY: The Distillery, The Toll House, and The Quart House. The Distillery plate, No. 522 in a limited edition of 1000, features a highly detailed drawing of the Distillery, a National Historic Landmark and the oldest operating distillery in America. The Toll House plate, No. 456 in a limited edition of 1000, features an equally highly detailed drawing of the restored 19th century Toll House that dates back to the 1880s when tolls were levied for using the country roads that wind through the distillery property. The Quart House plate, No. 332 in a limited edition of 1000, features an equally highly detailed drawing of this oldest standing retail package store in the country. All 3 plates say “Maker’s Mark” on the bottom rim and carry the SIV logo on both the left and right rim. The back of each plate gives information about the building depicted on the front, shows the plate’s number, and also says “Handmade by Louisville Stoneware.” Plate backs also have hanging holes should you desire to display them on a wall. Whether you’re a Maker’s Mark collector, a Louisville Stoneware collector, or a plate collector, you’re sure to appreciate these beautiful limited edition plates. All three are in perfect condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, crazing, or discoloration. (Click on pictures for more images.) Tell a friend.

1994 Kentucky Derby Festival Maker’s Mark designer glass

This is a mint julep glass from the 1994 Kentucky Derby Festival. Front features a stylized Pegasus logo in teal, orange and purple on a frosted background with “1994 Kentucky Derby Festival” above and “It’s For You!” below. Back gives the recipe for “The Maker’s Mark Mint Julep.” Glass stands 5-1/4" tall x 2-3/4" in diameter and is in perfect condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, or scratches.

By the way, Maker’s Mark is a brand of Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey produced at the Maker’s Mark Distillery in Loretto, KY, which is a National Historic Landmark. Family owned and operated since 1840 (originally as the T.W. Samuels Distillery in Samuels Depot, KY), the first bottle of Maker’s Mark was produced in 1957. Marge Samuels (wife of Bill, Sr.) designed the bottle and named the whisky, and all of us “antiqueoholics” will love this story! Mrs. Samuels collected fine pewter and always searched for “the mark of the maker.” She also collected cognac bottles, many of which were sealed in colorful wax. So she named her husband’s bourbon “Maker’s Mark” and the bottles are sealed with red wax to this day! (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.
