1998 Pepsi Kentucky Derby designer glass

This is a mint julep glass from the 1998 Kentucky Derby Festival. The 1998 poster and striking red, gold, gray and black logo, repeated on the front of this mint julep glass, was designed by Michael Schwab, one of the leading graphic design artists in the United States. His name and the year appear under his logo. Pepsi Cola sponsored the 1998 glass and their logo and advertising are on its back. Isn’t it interesting that Pepsi would sponsor the creation of a glass specifically designed for a drink that does not include its product! So whether you collect Kentucky Derby memorabilia, Pepsi advertising, or Michael Schwab art, this very attractive glass is your dream come true! It stands 5-1/4" tall x 2-3/4" in diameter and is in perfect condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, or scratches. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

1999 Pepsi Kentucky Derby designer glass

This is a mint julep glass from the 1999 Kentucky Derby Festival. The 1999 Festival poster and Pegasus logo, repeated on the front of this glass, were designed by Louisville artist Karen Boone, whose 1996 Derby Festival poster image was the first to be incorporated into the Pegasus Pin design and the entire Festival advertising and merchandising campaign. Her beautiful full-figure 1999 Pegasus is done in red, yellow, orange, purple, white and black on a frosted background with “Kentucky Derby” above and “Festival 1999” below, underneath which is her name and the year. Pepsi sponsored the 1999 glass and their familiar red and blue logo is on the back, above which is “Pepsi salutes the 1999 Kentucky Derby Festival.” Encircling the logo is “Nothing else is a Pepsi - Nothing else is the Kentucky Derby Festival.” This beautiful glass is perfect for Pepsi collectors as well as Kentucky Derby lovers. It stands 5-1/4" tall x 2-3/4" in diameter and is in perfect condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, or scratches. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

2000 Pepsi Kentucky Derby designer glass

This is a mint julep glass from the 2000 Kentucky Derby Festival. The 2000 Festival poster and Pegasus logo, repeated on the front of this glass, were designed by Louisville artist Lonnie Walker. His modernistic stylized Pegasus is ridden by a jockey and done in yellow, blue, green, dusty rose, and purple on a frosted background with “2000 Kentucky Derby Festival” above and his signature below. Pepsi sponsored the 2000 glass and their logo (unusual because it’s black, not red and blue) is on the back, above which is “Pepsi salutes the 2000 Kentucky Derby Festival.” Encircling the logo is “The joy of cola - The joy of the Kentucky Derby Festival.” Both Pepsi collectors and Kentucky Derby collectors will appreciate this glass. It stands 5-1/4" tall x 2-3/4" in diameter and is in perfect condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, or scratches. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

Promise “Get Heart Smart” nesting measuring cups

This is a set of four nesting red plastic heart-shaped measuring cups that were part of the Promise margarine “Get Heart Smart” campaign that began in the mid-1980's. Promise’s print advertisements and television commercials used “Get Heart Smart” as its slogan and showed heart-shaped pats of the margarine on foods. But by 1996, the Food and Drug Administration was clamping down on health claims and Promise was more or less forced to give up its “Get Heart Smart” slogan and advertising. No more measuring cups, either! These cups measure 1/4 cup/60 ml, 1/3 cup/80 ml, 1/2 cup/125 ml, and 1 cup/250 ml and are marked as such on the tops of their respective handles. The bottom of the largest cup is marked “Promise” and “Get Heart Smart” in large white letters. Perfect condition with no damage whatsoever. These measuring cups are bound to become ever more scarce as time passes, so “Get Head Smart” and buy a set while you still can! (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

Reddy Kilowatt Safety Club pinback

This is a 1-3/4" diameter Reddy Kilowatt Safety Club pinback. Created in 1926 by Ashton B. Collins, Sr., of the Alabama Power Company, Reddy Kilowatt became the mascot of over 200 electrical companies in the U.S. seeking to sell this new form of energy. With lightning bolts for a torso and appendages, a strobelight for a head, a light bulb for a nose, and wall sockets for ears, Reddy represented all things electrical and was the first ever “spokestoon” character. He was very busy over the next several decades, not only warming the hearts of adult consumers, but starring in his own comic book, The Mighty Atom, and movies that made their way into schools across the country via Reddy Kilowatt Safety Clubs that instructed kids about fire and electrical safety. Seldom seen today, Reddy Kilowatt appeared in a variety of publicity material until the OPEC oil embargo of the 1970's and the environmental movement replaced energy production with energy conservation as a national goal. Our pinback shows a full-figure Reddy Kilowatt with his right arm and hand lifted in a “stop” position with “Reddy Kilowatt” above and “Safety Club” below. Perfect condition and a great piece of American history. Price includes shipping to anywhere in the U.S. Be sure to see our Mighty Atom pinback listed immediately below. Rolex-Lucerne silver plated advertising spoon

This 4-1/4" silver plated spoon is one of the famous Rolex advertising spoons produced by Bucherer, the equally famous chain of jewelry stores headquartered in Lucerne, Switzerland. Carl-Frederich Bucherer opened the first store in 1888 and the family-run company is still in business today, headed by third-generation Jörg G. Bucherer as Chairman of the Board. The Rolex spoons, which often have the names of cities where a Bucherer store exists, were given away as free souvenirs at Switzerland hotels where they were placed on the pillow like a mint. This spoon says “Lucerne” on its stem, as well as “Rolex,” “Bucherer,” and “Watches.” The spoon bowl features an engrave sleeping lion. Stem back is stamped “CB 69.” Very good vintage condition with a lovely patina and no dings or dents. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.

Price: $25.00 includes s/h to anywhere in the U.S.

Sargento Lambeau Field cheese crock

This is a limited edition Lambeau Field commemorative crock produced in 2003 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of Sargento Foods, Inc., the famous cheese company headquartered near Green Bay, WI. Crock is the hunter green color of the Green Bay Packers. Front decal contains a drawing of a Packers’ quarterback in a very old-fashioned football helmet and says “Sargento, The Official Cheese of Lambeau Field, Wisconsin Cheddar Cheese Spread, 2003 Limited Edition.” Also says “Since 1957,” the year Lambeau Field came into existence. (Legendary coach Vince Lombardi arrived on the scene two years later and changed the team colors to hunter green and gold.) As any football enthusiast knows, Packers’ fans are known as “Cheeseheads,” so the partnership between Sargento and the Packers was a natural. This crock is 4-1/2" in diameter and stands 6-1/2" tall to the top of its wire bale closure. Bottom retains its original undamaged Sargento paper label. Crock is in perfect condition with no nicks, chips, or cracks, and retains its original rubber gasket. (Click on picture for more images.) Tell a friend.
